On Sunday 31st August, we had 4 members attend the State Long Distance Championships at Knox Grammar. Our members were: Alexandra, Kelly, Joanna and Belinda.

Some incredible news out of the meet….

Alexandra (our youngest member) is now the NATIONAL record holder in the 18-24 year age group for the 800FLY! Yes you read that correctly – the 800FLY! Alex swam the 800FLY in a time of 13:59:23. The previous record was 15:10:75  set back in 2000,so Alex smashed the time by more than 1 minute! 

This is an outstanding achievement Alexandra and we are so proud of you!

Kelly is also the STATE record holder for the 800 IM and 400BACK in the 30-34 age group.. Kelly went 11:17:55 for the 800 IM and 5:12:76 for the 400BACK. (just narrowly missing the National record by 0.62 in the BACK).

Belinda won the  gold medal in both the 400 Free and 400 IM with impressive PBs swims.

Joanna swam herself into a gold medal in the 400 Free in her age group.
