Masters Swimming is for swimmers who are 18 years or older. So don’t be scared off by the term masters.
The club was started by Barry Jarvis and John Hunter in 1980. They heard about AUSSI Masters Swimming, and decided to establish a local club. They competed against each other on the club’s inaugural day. They then started to hold races over 50m, 100m and 200m. Gradually membership grew and they published the results in the local newspaper. This is how others became aware and interested in the club.
Members who are in the club after 20 years or more are still competing. We still have some of the original members in our club. Barry Jarvis is a life member of the club. Helga Duncan, who was President for 9 years, is also a life member and still competes, as well as Russell McLeod, Heather Rouen, Steven Clough & Barbara Briggs.
Every year our members feature well in the National and State Top Ten. In past years some have reached the World Top Ten.
The club has an active social side besides our swimming agenda and this all helps to create a harmonious club.
Our club is sponsored by the Campbelltown Catholic Club.
Feel free to download a copy of our Constitution, to have a read.
There are many important roles that keep a club afloat.
