Freestyle enlightenment from Masters coaching clinic
It was with great anticipation and appreciation that on 24th November we hosted Anne Smyth and Greg Gourley from Tuggeranong Vikings club (in Canberra) for a coaching clinic. It was very generous of them both to give up their Sunday morning for us. So of course we paid them by providing a good old BBQ after the swim.
We all got the opportunity to try out some unusual training paddles, that quickly showed us if we were positioning are hands incorrectly during our hand entry for Freestyle. And to work on developing a correct and powerful Freestyle pull. We also experienced working with a tempo timer. I know I could still hear the beep in my head long after I had removed it from my cap.
