Extraordinary feat at Ryde

30 August 2022 Carnival, News

On Saturday 27th August we had 5 members attend the Ryde BPS. They were Belinda, Russell, Jim W, Helga and Suzie.

Our club did extremely well and finished 8th on overall points and came 3rd in the average points on 31.2. Just to put this in perspective 2nd place had an average of 31.22 and 1st place an average of 31.8. Wow so close!

Our 4 x 50 m (200+) relay team came 2nd which was excellent to see and improved on their nominated entry time by 2 seconds.

A highlight of the day was watching Helga swim herself into the state record books (again) for the 50m and 100m breastroke.

Helga was only aiming to beat the 100m breastroke time and to her suprise she also got the 50m breastroke only a few events after the 100m was swum.

Congratulations Helga! A true inpsiriation to everyone at our club.
